These symbols represent the 12 constellations of the Zodiac. Moving from the top (12:00) in a clockwise direction, they are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.
The 4 words just outside the square:
These four woods describe the four "elements" from which, it was thought, all matter was made. At the top is Aier (air), at the right is Ignis (ignition, as in fire), at the bottom is Terra (earth), and at the left is Aqua (water).

These symbols include the Sun, Moon, and 5 planets (only 6, including earth, were known in the 13th century). Moving from the top in a clockwise direction are the Sun, Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars and Venus.
